[ubuntu] Sounds

Ok, heres the scenario:

I'm playing Runescape (a MMORPG) then go try to listen to music and i will open up rythmbox and then i double click on a song to listen to it and it will say its playing but stays at 0:00 out of 3:31 or something and doesn't play.

Or I open up rythmbox and play music then try to load Runescape and it doesn't load because Runescape has sound.

Any help? This really frusterates me because i would like to do both at the same time. Thanks in advance.

Does Rhythmbox/Runescape run normally otherwise? Have you tried using a different media player/browser?

I haven't played Runescape in so long. This isn't good. I have work I need to be doing.

I think it's a Pulse Audio issue. Try changing all your options in the sound menu to use ALSA. I went as far as to uninstall Pulse Audio. Since I did that I've been able to use multiple audio sources at the same time.
